Final product for magazine advert

This is our finished magazine advert, we chose to use the same picture that we used on the digipak and we also used the same font that is on the front of our digipak because we would like to keep the same themes to make the brand identity more obvious .

We originally just had the NME rating but the bottom of the magazine advert looked to plain so we put in another rating from MOJO magazine.

Overall the advert was easy to make as we already had the image from the digipak so didn't need to edit the image again and because it was simplistic it did not take any editing .

Magazine advert update

First of all we started by putting the boarder around our product so that we could keep with the themes of Sca music .We did this by using a black back ground and then we put white squares layered over the top to give the checked look .

All we had to do next was copy and paste the picture from of our digipak and put it in the position that we wanted on the magazine advert . This created our main but simple image for the front of the magazine .

Secondly we added the writing that we wanted on the front , this consists of the band name and the album name that we are trying to sell . We used the same font that was on the digipak cover because we wanted to stick with the brand identity and we think that it suits the magazine advert .

Thirdly we added the additional information that is needed making sure that we use the right rankings and names for our genre . We made sure that we put the websites on so that the audiences can find the information that they would like . We added the two tone logo and then made the release date bigger than the rest and used a different font so that it would stand out to the audience.

Magazine advert feedback

When showing the whole class our ideas for our magazine advert they gave us some really good feedback . We knew that by asking the class what they liked about the advert and what they didn't like that we would get some good feedback in order to make a great advert that matches the conventions of the genre .

The class did not like our first idea very much as they did not like the how the boarder was placed at the top and they did not like the picture that we used . They liked that we kept with the themes that were on the digipak but they did not like how it was set out .

They liked the first design and the second design equally, they liked how the boarder looked and they liked how simplistic the design is . They also liked the picture that we used as it kept with the brand identity . They both liked the designs equally so it was up to us to decide how we wanted to set it out .
Similarly they liked the look of the third design as it was very similar to the second design . Some people said they liked the thickness of the second design boarder more and some said they liked the third more . Because they were both so equally voted for we decided to pick qualities that we liked as a group to put on the magazine advert .

Magazine adverts ideas

All of the magazine adverts were very similar as we all had the same ideas already . We all decided that we wanted to keep with the brand identity so that every one would recognise our product . We did this by keeping with the checked theme and the pictures of  the artist .

The first design was a very rough idea in which there is the picture of Lewis that is on the back of our digipak . There is a checked boarder at the top and the release date with a rating. The title Madness and the album Our House was a vital convention to put on the magazine so that the audience knew what album we are promoting .

The second and the third design are very similar only we had our writing in different places . They both have the album picture on the front which keeps with the brand identity well and they both have the checked themes all around the magazine advert. Both adverts have kept the themes plain and simple to keep to the generic stereotypes of the magazine .
