Target audience demographics

Our group looked at what target audience we would have and what target audience we would like to have;

AGE- The age range of our chosen song would normally be 20-50 year olds because of how old the song is and because of the genre as the genre sca in particular is well known from the 80's and so is the indie rock genre although the indie rock genre has carried on through the different generations so is well known to teenagers . Although the target audience back in the 80's would be teenagers and young adults (16-25) We would like our music video to be aimed for an age range of between 16-50, we think that we could do this because of how well known the song is but also because of the fun, crazy and humorous factors that occur in our video.

Gender-  The gender of the genre sca/ indie rock is male and female because of its fun and random music its self and the videos it appeals to both . Although women are thought to like it more because of the males that are usually the artists . We would like to keep our video as a mixture of genders so that it appeals to a wider audience .

Class- The typical class for this genre is lower and middle classes because the higher classes would sometimes not agree with the things that go on in the videos, back in the 80's the video would still be aimed at the lower and middle classes because of the fun nature of the songs. The songs would normally of been played at dance parties where as now a days it would not be played at dance parties because the teenagers and young adults would not be familiar with the genre sca which  is why we want to make the video fun and modern because this will draw in the younger audiences attentions .
